"L'Allegro, Il Penseroso ed il Moderato" es un oratorio de Haendel inspirado en unos poemas de Milton ("L'Allegro" e "Il Penseroso") y otro poema de otro autor que terciaba a modo de 'golden middle'. Haendel fue el compositor favorito en Inglaterra durante el siglo XVIII:
